Neiman Marcus McLaren 12C Sells Out Within Two hours
There’s no doubt that a special edition or designer labeled supercar adds that extra bit of panache to an already exclusive product. In the 1970’s and 1980’s we saw the likes of Givenchy on American luxury cars like the Lincoln Continental, but today it is upscale brands like Neiman Marcus adorning heart-pounding supercars like the McLaren 12C. This special edition McLaren sold out within just two hours and includes special features like Volcano Red paint, lightweight diamond-cut wheels with gloss black highlights, and similar colors schemes and stitching inside. In addition, a numbered plaque is included alongside a one-of-a-kind luggage set, and lastly a trip to the UK to dine with McLaren Chairman Ron Dennis. This Neiman Marcus McLaren has an $85k premium over a standard 12C, bringing its price tag to about $354k. Believe it or not, this two-hour sell out is not as big of a feat as it may seem. Past Neiman Marcus special edition cars have done even better. For example, its Ferrari FF’s sold out in just 50 minutes, and its Camaro convertibles in just three minutes…yes, three minutes.
