2013 Porsche Cayman Spotted in the Wild Ahead of L.A. Debut
We’ve heard from Porsche that they will be bringing a “new compact sports car” to the L.A. Auto Show, and most of us know this will be the next Cayman. Just recently some pictures leaked via Instagram of the new Cayman almost 100% undisguised. So, what do we see? Firstly, there are strong cues that come from the current generation such as the pronounced rear fenders. We also see some cues from the beautiful new Boxster such as a pronounced rear air vent and more aggressive front end. In addition, increased length (whether literally or aesthetically) also seems to be the case, which is a key trend within Porsche, which was very much noticeable on the 991. Power is likely to be routed from Boxster options, including a base 2.7 liter 6-cylinder with at least 264 horsepower, and a 3.4 liter liter boxer 6 with at least 315 horsepower. Sales on current Caymans has flatlined, which signals anticipation for the next generation in L.A. We will have our fingers on the pulse of the L.A. Auto Show and will surely keep an eye out for this new Porsche.
