Aston Martin Rapide wagon headed for production?
Back in march at the famed Geneva Auto Show coach builder Bertone introduced us to the 2+2 Jet, essentially a sport wagon version of the stunning Aston Martin Rapide sedan. Hmmm, well Ferrari has done it with the FF, with substantial success, so why not Aston (or Bertone)? The initial car shown in Geneva was commissioned by a well-heeled Bertone customer who wanted a unique and pristine example of Bertone's and Aston Martin's automotive relationship; this car is truly one-of-a-kind. You think that such a unique, sexy, and seemingly feasible car can just stay to one example? Multiple automotive sources do not, and they claim that Aston Martin don't think so either. According to Autocar, a “Definitely. Maybe” has been uttered, with a “small production run” potentially in the works. There are many hurdles to overcome down to things such as naming and the like, so this does not seem to be a car to hit the roads very soon, but ultimately this is speculation. The 2+2 Jet is based on the Rapide S, so expect the purring 476 horsepower 6.0-Liter V12 under hood.
