Cheaper baby NSX back under construction at Acura
Acura, come back! For a moment it’s hard to remember the great exotic car capabilities of Honda’s luxury marque. Only fond memories of the beautifully balanced, high-revving, naturally-aspirated goodness of the early model NSX exist today. News of a new NSX has been circulating for some time now and ever since the Detroit Auto Show in January, we’ve gotten a good picture of the all-wheel drive, hybrid supercar to come. As if waiting for a new NSX isn’t painful enough, now we hear we’re going to have to wait yet again for another exciting offer from Acura: a baby NSX. A smaller, less expensive NSX-inspired sports car from Acura seems plausible but it still speculative. And since the NSX is not set to hit the road until 2015, this “baby NSX” probably break cover for a year or two after. This smaller sports car will likely like squarely in the $50k – $60k range and possibly offer a turbo-charged 4-cylinder or powerful hybrid mill. By the time 2016 or 2017 rolls around, though, there could be some brand new technology to include. We’ll be keeping our finger on the pulse of this story for you.
