Hennessey releases renderings, details of new Viper-based Venom 700R, 1000 Twin Turbo
We know Hennessey Performance to take our favorite sports cars to outlandish performance levels. Whether it be a heavy Cadillac wagon or a lightweight Lotus, the buckwild Texas-based tuner isn’t afraid to break four-digit power ratings. The new SRT Viper is next up on their list, and two exciting versions are to be offered up. First is the Venom 700R which boosts horsepower to 725 from 640, and torque to 695 lb. ft. from 600. An impressive 3.1 second launch to 60 and 216 mph top speed is what the beastly 700R is good for. Inject a bit more venom into this snake and you have the eye-opening Venom 1000 Twin Turbo, good for 1,120 horsepower and 1,092 lb.ft. of torque. Expect a 2.7 second sprint to 60 and a ¼ mile of 9.2 seconds at 152 mph; top speed is not yet listed. And while the 700R gets treatment like re-worked computers and freer-flowing intake and exhaust, the 1000 Twin Turbo gets forced induction and much heavier modification of staple engine parts. Aerodynamics and racing modifications are sure to be included as well.
