Aventador GT Four-Seater Coming to 2013 Geneva
Expansion into new automotive categories and widening model lineups among luxury and sports car brands is a quickening trend today, and is evidenced by brands like Porsche (i.e. Cayenne, Panamera). The trend, though, is not limited to “mainstream” brands, and continues to make its way upmarket to the most exclusive automotive brands like Bentley, and in this case, Lamborghini. We’ve known for a bit that Lamborghini is planning on an extended lineup, especially when the Urus SUV was recently revealed, but now we know that this expansion is going to continue and in a form we are very fond of, the Aventador. First will come a Spyder version of the Aventador with a removable carbon fiber top, but even more interesting is the pending reveal of a four-door Aventador model at the 2013 Geneva show. Both renditions will surely come with the current 6.5 liter V12 (that now has cylinder deactivation), but a four-seater is especially intriguing. Lastly will come a fiery “SV” which will have exciting performance tweaks. There are still some who turn their nose up at the idea of Lamborghini and similar brands expanding into different automotive categories, but when it comes down to it, these are sure to be exciting and advanced vehicles, so why not embrace them?
