Lamborghini Working To Protect The Environment
With the increased hybridization, or “greenification,” of automotive offerings, many Exotic Car enthusiasts might think, what are supercar brands doing to address the trend? With powerful, gas-guzzling 8, 10, and 12-cylinder motors, they can’t possibly pass themselves off as truly making efforts to be significantly more efficient. After all, hybrid technology (i.e. KERS) has been proposed to tack on more power rather than significantly increase efficiency. Lamborghini, on the other hand, has us thinking again about supercars being efficient. A key way that exotic car brands can reduce their carbon footprint while still producing devilishly fast & gas-hungry cars is to address the manufacturing process. Lamborghini has come to the front of the pack on this “greenification,” having started a program 5 years ago that has them on track to a carbon-neutral production facility by 2015. In the same time Lambo would also like to reduce carbon emissions from its vehicles by 35%…ideally. All in all, though power is likely to remain priority over efficiency, exotic car brands like Lamborghini are making a step in the right direction that most enthusiasts can agree on.
