Hennessey preparing updated Venom GT2 with 1,500 HP
It seems like just yesterday that Hennessey’s Venom GT hit the market, with its first example going to rockstar Steven Tyler. The Venom GT may have just recently gone on sale, but horsepower-hungry Hennessey hasn’t let a moment slip by without introducing even more power to its lineup. Don’t worry, the Venom GT is not being replaced, but rather offered alongside an even more powerful rendition, the Venom GT2. Jam-packed with 1,500 (300 more than the GT), the Venom GT2 has a horsepower for every single kilogram of its weight and sources it all from a mean twin-turbo 7.0 liter V8. Modified headlights and a double-bubble top (for improved headroom) round out the aesthetic changes, while a 7-speed “paddle-shift transmission” and improved drag (down to 0.42 CofD from 0.44) finish off the mechanics. The Hennessey Venom GT2 comes in at $1.25 million, but if you want the 7-speed paddle-shift transmission you’ll have to whip out an extra $165k.
