Ferrari’s ‘LaFerrari’ Enzo-successing halo car revealed in Geneva!
The time has finally come! For months and months we have been bringing you bits, pieces, renderings, and speculation on Ferrari's new hypercar, previously known as F70 & F150. Firstly, though the renderings were impressive, the actual car is even more menacing & ferocious, especially in its Ferrari-red garb. It's slippery shape keeps visual to the middle & rear, an attribute common not only in supercars, but increasingly evident in hypercars. Part of this can be attributed to the breadth & height of the painted body versus the glass paneling. And when all of this is coupled with the ultra-low hood and highly functional scoop work, it really is stunning; we can only imagine what it looks like in person. As noted before, the LaFerrari is powered by a hybrid system that features a 6.3-liter V-12 engine paired with two electric motors delivering 950 horsepower and “more than” 660 pound-feet of torque. Sprints to 60 are expected to undercut 3 seconds, with top speeds reaching around 217 mph. For a bit of perspective the LaFerrari will lap Ferrari’s Fiorano race track in less than 1:20, which is 5.0 seconds faster than the Enzo and 3.0 seconds faster than the F12 Berlinetta. Stay tuned for this week's blog where we'll pit the LaFerrari against some other Geneva superstars.
