Audi CEO: Lamborghini Urus will launch in 2017
We’re not quite sure if the Lamborghini Urus was ever really a go or ever a for sure no-go, but it looks like we have some pretty solid evidence that we will, after all, be getting a sport-ute from Lamborghini. So, what is this solid evidence we speak of? Both Audi’s and Lamborghini’s CEO’s have made some sure remarks in relation to the big bull. Audi CEO Rupert Stadtler noted that he will likely sign off on the new model “this year,” and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann detailed a bit on the possible powertrains noting that the “SUV could be a playground” for a “two-mode hybrid” system. Some also think that a high-performance V10 could find its way into the Urus, or at least as an option. Regardless, the Urus will very likely ride on VW’s next-generation MLB platform, which will also underpin the likes of the Touraeg, Q7, & Cayenne. Expect to see the Urus in auto show circuits around 2015 or 2016. More to come!
