Maserati Ghibli revealed ahead of Shanghai debut

We get our first appetizer with the Maserati Ghibli before the meal that is the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show. This is the car that Maserati wants to boost its 50k unit-per-year goal by 2015, and the car that will go head-to-head with more approachable competitors like the BMW 5-series and Mercedes E-class. We only have 3 images to taste, but we can clearly see that a sporty approach is evident, one more aggressive than its big bro, Quattroporte. Inside the car benefits from beautiful Italian styling and presumably from fine materials. It is a fact that the car will run two turbocharged 6-cylinder options, one gas and one diesel (the first diesel in Maserati’s history). Expect an eight-speed automatic, rear-wheel-drive configuration will be standard, and the new Q4 all-wheel-drive system will be available. More details to come later this month!
