Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse sets world record for fastest open-top car
Did you really think Bugatti was going to let it’s losing the title of world’s fastest production car go for very long? If they can’t have that title, they’ll be damned in they don’t get another to replace it. With that in mind, Bugatti ran a 254.0 mph run in its Veyron Super Sport Vitesse and subsequently claimed the fastest open-roof production car. The record was set by Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu at VW’s proving grounds in Ehra-Lessian, Germany. The speed was measured and verified by the German Technical Inspection and Certification Association (TÜV). The car has yet to be tested by Guiness World Records, which tends to act as the last guarantee in anything world-record related. Despite its lack of other confirming parties, We believe Bugatti. Oh, but wait, you didn’t think all this would go down without another special edition Veyron, did you. Grab yourself one of eight World Record edition Veyrons for a cool $2.61mm.
