Aston Martin shows new design direction with CC100 concept
Within days of being teased, Aston Martin has revealed a CC100 concept, a lightweight Speedster that pays homage to the 1959 DBR1 in light of the company's centenary. The quick reveal reflects the lightning fast production of this car, which took only 6 months from conception, including its carbon fiber body. Aston Martin packs this speedster with its naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter V12 and is mated to a six-speed sequential manual paddleshift gearbox. Officials note this is good for a sprint to 60 in 4 seconds and a substantial 180 mph. The car was revealed at the Nordschliefe ahead of the 24 Hours of Nurburging, with the one & only Sir Stirling Moss in tow to accompany its track run in a DBR1. Hope for production? There are no known plans now, but if AM is serious about this car representing its future designs, we're sure its well-heeled fanatics may squeeze some road-going examples out of them.
