The game of an SUV offering from our favorite ultra-luxury brands has been a bit of a ping-pong match, with negative and affirmative reports going back and forth. The critics are absolutely there, but is it really about the critics or about the brand? There is some new evidence in the speculation of a Rolls-Royce SUV, but this time the evidence has a bit more “meat” than the usual reports rebuking an SUV as a dent to the brand's image. In fact, word has it that brand reputation and sales ultiamtely come second to feasability in determining the likelihood of an SUV for Rolls. A new chassis would be a financial mishap for such a specialized, low-volume car, leaving Rolls to turn to BMW for underpinnings to utilize, those being from the next-gen X5 that just released. Even more, this is also contingent upon the new X5 coming in a 7-passenger option, allowing for the long wheelbase that Rolls-Royce would need for its sport-ute. Underhood could be a a V12, though this would be more difficult than a turbo or turbo-hybrid V8 mill. More to come
