Zagato unveils two Aston Martin Centennial editions
Zagato has done it again. Are you surprised? The famed coachbuilder and expert Aston Martin plastic surgeon has taken to the DBS Coupe and DB9 Spyder in its latest creations, the DBS Coupé Zagato Centennial and DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial. Aston Martin’s 100th anniversary is not only an iconic time for the marque itself, but also for other brands that are so closely associated with AM, such as Zagato. For such an iconic occasion you might expect Zagato to go “balls to the wall” in creating something spectacular and potentially over the top. Well, you won’t get that with this pair, and the fact that the potential for garrishness is totally absent reinforces the Zagato brand that much more – props for your restraint. Plus, let’s not forget that Zagato builds its cars largely based on demand and with key insights from its very wealthy buyers, in this case a Japanese entrepreneur and famed Zagato collector, Paul Read. But, that’s not to say that these cars are not highly advanced and stunning exotic cars. In terms of the body work, it seems as though just the door handles are adopted from the DBS/9 that underpins these beautiful bodies, with design work that nearly ditches any original aspects from the cars. Sleek, “Mediterranean,” and grand are great ways to describe this new batch of Zagato Aston Martins, and boy they must be breathtaking in person. Without further ado, take a look at the pictures below. Plus, if this whets your appetite for an Aston Martin, please, look no further than our beautiful Aston Martin V8 Vantage rental.
