McLaren P13 to Deliver 450 Horsepower and Cost Nearly $200K
McLaren’s re-emergence into the exotic auto world has gained serious momentum in the last few years and its pace continues to be just as quick as its MP4-12c and P1 supercars. If Club Sportiva’s inclusion of the 592 horsepower McLaren MP4-12c rental in its fleet isn’t prove enough, a new entry-level model dubbed the P13 shows the brand’s forward momentum. The P13 has been in the auto news for months now, but some crucial new *speculative* details have surfaced, and we like the sound of ’em. Under the tape and wraps we’re likely to expect a design scheme similar to the P1 hypercar with wrap-around headlights and two deep hood vents. Underneath we’ll find the same carbon-fiber monocoque as in the MP4-12c and P1, but with a shorter wheelbase. In addition, McLaren’s 3.8-liter turbocharged V8 gem will also grace the P13, but de-tuned by approximately 166 horsepower (from the MP4-12c) to about 450 horsies. Sure, horsepower is reduced here, but remember that this entry-level offering will also be lighter (perhaps under 3k lbs), resulting in a very agile supercar. Current estimates and exchange rates expect a sticker price near $200k. To put it simply, watch out Porsche 911 Turbo, this McLaren smells blood. Get a taste with our McLaren MP4-12C!
