2015 Porsche 911 Targa to bow in Detroit
The 2015 911 Targa is Detroit bound for its debut at the Detroit Motor Show, as confirmed by Porsche. Would you like more details? Well, Porsche isn’t divulging any further facts, but a great set of leaked images show the iconic convertible to be identical to its hardtop brethren in most design aspects, except of course for the large wraparound rear window and a roll bar adorned by three small vertical air vents inspired by the first 911 Targa that bowed in 1967. Word has it that the base Targa will be powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six good for 350 horsepower and 288 lb-ft. of torque, with the more expensive Targa S employing a 3.6-liter flat-six that spins 400 horsepower and 324 lb-ft. of torque. Upon launch, the Targa will only be offered with rear-wheel drive but a four-wheel drive model with a widened rear end will likely join the lineup later in the production run. More details to come!
