Fjord unveiled their newest Patrick Canfield design, the Fjord 48 Open at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
Although the 48 is a small yacht, it has many of the features found on larger yachts. From a tender garage with a Williams Turbojet 285 in it, that can be accessed in minutes, to an all-glass Volvo bridge with joystick controls.
Power is delivered from triple Volvo Penta IPS600 pods that can reach a comfortable top speed of 40 knots. The IPS system allows the yacht to be steered with a joystick or be adjusted via touchscreen controls from the glass cockpit.
Seating is meant for fourteen with ten in the cockpit and four in the bow. The rear cockpit turns into a giant sun pad and is equipped with a fridge/freezer and an electric grill for a barbecue on the water. The 48 can be used for day boating or a weekend cruise with en suite bathrooms, comfortable headroom and lots of natural light.
The base price is just under $800,000.
