At this year’s Paris Motor Show (October 1 – 16th), Mercedes-Benz is rumored to unveil a pick-up truck, most likely under the X-Class name. There are said to be three variations of the truck whose body will be based off of the Nissan Navara truck. The engines will be Mercedes’ own with a four-cylinder, six-cylinder and gas/electric hybrid.

Mercedes is looking to have two main cabin options for the various markets it will serve. One with a rugged cabin for commercial use and a luxury option with familiar MB comforts like those seen in the GLA, GLE and G-Class SUVs.

Mercedes-Benz van chief Volker Morhinweg says “Don’t expect to see a fat cowboy truck for North America” and without a plan for Mercedes to build it stateside we most likely won’t see it, but there’s always a chance that they’ll move forward if the X-class does well and create a larger truck based on the GLS SUV.
