We had the opportunity to view the Bugatti Chiron while it was on display in the Bay Area at Los Gatos Luxury Cars, and the first thing we noticed was the extreme width. The Veyron, of course, had an impressive stance but the Chiron added even more presence. At 80.2″ wide, that’s 4″ wider than the Veyron. For reference, our SRT Viper which runs 355/30R19 is 76″ wide, half a foot less than the Chiron. A Hummer H2 is 81″ wide, narrow than the new Chiron.  “Presence” is an understatement.

The tires that come from the factory are 285/30 R20 up front and 355/25 R21 in the rear. They were developed in partnership with Michelin to handle 3,688 lb-ft of torque on each wheel. The Chiron is said to push 1,180 lb-ft of Torque from 2000rpm all the way up to 6000rpm, through a very linear power-band. Surprisingly, the Chiron’s tires will cost less than the Veyron’s, but likely not by much as the Veyron tire cost is about $10,000 each.
