Maserati is on an ambitious quest to sell 50,000 in 2015, an effort that would surely transform the Italian brand from one of niche status to a more competitive brand in the automotive marketplace.  Amid the new Quattroporte, Ghibli, and upcoming Levante SUV (models that will aid in achieving this goal), Maserati will also be introducing the next-gen GranTurismo in late 2014 or early 2015.  A staple model for Maserati, the next GranTurismo will drive the future design scheme of Maserati automobiles and will carry some neat changes for itself.  A shorter wheelbase and switch to a 2+2 configuration will help make the GranTurismo a sportier offering, a change that is complemented by a more widely varied lineup.  If the next rendition is anything like our Maserati GranTurismo rental, we’ll be happy campers!
