Mercedes S-Class Pullman to shoot for Rolls-Royce, list for $260,000
For some time now the prediction for what was to come after Maybach’s demise lied solely in the resurrection of Mercedes’ classic ‘Pullman’ moniker on the new S-Class. Well, the years or chit-chatter were quite correct. In fact, Mercedes has noted that it is gunning right for the Rolls-Royce Phantom with this one, a feat that was ultimately accomplished with Maybach. How will Benz sell an S-Class alongside the ultra-lux, borderline SUV-sized Phantom? Well, let’s not forget that the Maybach was ultimately a *nicely* refurbished S-Class of late and was a completely legitimate contender (if not winner) in the area of luxury offerings. Plus, the new S-Class, Pullman or not, is bound to be a stunningly luxurious car so we’re sure the Pullman will be the best of the best. Whether or not the car will ride on the extended or super-extended (currently only bound for China) wheelbase is still unknown, but you can expect a base price of around $260k, as noted by CEO Dieter Zetsche.
