TVR’s New Owner Reveals Details On Future Sports Car plans
Do you remember the storied British exotic car brand, TVR, of recent past? Many enthusiasts will offer up an ‘of course’ style response, but even if the top-of-mind associations of funky design and powerful motors maintain a place in your psyche, the British brand is still a bit elusive to many. Regardless, TVR is back in business, baby. The remnants of the brand were recently sold to a consortium of investors led by entrepreneur Les Edgar. Until just recently, details on how the brand would develop and reinstate its place in the hearts and minds of exotic car lovers worldwide were secret (or at least not developed yet), but now some have released. So, the plan is that TVR will release two sports cars by 2015, with the lower end offering starting around $75k, with one or both being rooted in an existing platform, though the possibility of an all-new base and later launch date are not completely out of the cards. Overall, the plan is to keep TVR a sporting-focused brand, with minimal electronic aids, limitations, and comforts. In addition, competing in Le Mans and refurbishing a presence in the racing scene is also a yearning for the brand and its new owners. There is sure to be exciting news around TVR coming out and we’ll be sure to cover it!
