A fleet of 11 seized supercars sold at auction for just $4.06 million
It’s always intriguing to hear about the rare exotic cars that world leaders, innocent and rogue alike, often harbor in their personal collections, and the case of Equatorial Guinea is no exception. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, the son of Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has been roiled in legal issues in the wake of being accused of misuse of public funds. Unfortunately this is a persistent issue in the continent and many other places in the world, but the extravagance that is indulged in gets more and more surprising, and as you might expect we’re talking about the cars. Teodoro’s collection included a Ferrari Enzo, Maserati MC12, and 2 Bugatti Veyrons, among at least 7 others (reports show they were in fact part of a larger fleet of up to 23). The cars have been transported around between the U.S., Africa, and France, the latter of which where they were recently auctioned off at quite the bargain: just over $4,000,000. So, even though only one entity was able to score on this deal, you can get your hands on even more Exotic Cars, and without criminal fingerprints, by renting one of Club Sportiva’s Exotic Car Rentals or joining our exclusive exotic car membership.
