We should start keeping track of the number of new edition Bugatti Veyron posts we have up…Regardless, here’s another one for you. In reality, though, what enthusiast could argue with a beautiful new rendition of one of the world’s most exclusive exotic cars? We surely won’t. So, what do we have in store this round from Bugatti? Interestingly enough, we’re reaching back in time. Bugatti has recently launched what it calls the “Bugatti Legend” series (“Les Légendes de Bugatti”) of Veyrons to commemorate its past racing winners and heroes. Not a new concept, but definitely one that can be appreciated. The first of 6 in the series pays homage to Jean-Pierre Wimille who drove a Bugatti 57G Tank to first place 1937 24 Hours of Le Mans, and who repeated the feat in 1939 behind in a Bugatti 57C Tank. What is also neat is that Pierre Veyron himself was Wimille’s co-pilot in 1939. The ways in which homage will be paid will be through aesthetics, primarily an iconic color combination both inside and outside the car that consists of blue clear-coated carbon fiber and a light Wimille Bleu paintwork finish. Underneath will be the standard machinery of a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, which is the monstrous 1,184 horsepower 8.0L W12 engine. Expect only 3 examples of the “Jean-Pierre Wimille” Veyron.
