Brabus Brings The Heat For The 2014 Mercedes S-Class
Oh Brabus, you little devils, you. Shoving unimaginable amounts of torque and horsepower into big, heavy, teutonic luxury sedans. And boy do we love you for it. The 2014 Mercedes S-Class is still brand spankin’ new on the scene but Brabus has already gotten their hands on it to turn it fiery hot while keeping its elegant composure (until the tires spin, that is). Brabus will bring us 3 levels of modification to the S-Class beginning with an increase to 512 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque out of its Twin-Turbo V8 engine; 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and good for 186 mph. Stop there and we’re quite content and eager to drive, but it gets better…and better. Start off with the new S63 AMG and you’ll have yourself the B63 650 with the luxury of 650 horses and 737 pound-feet of torque. Oh yeah, you can have that torque and use it too…at a mere 2,250 rpm. But now the cream of the crop, the Brabus B63S 730. Point Blank: 730 horsepower, 785 pound-feet of torque, no electronic limiter, 205 mph. Check please! The real catch, though, is matching those numbers to the beauty of the new S-Class and the elegance of Brabus’s aesthetic (but necessary) body work. We’ll be looking forward to more pics and video coverage. It may not have nearly 800 pound-feet of torque, but if you’re craving Mercedes take a look at our E350 Cabriolet and the rest of the Club Sportiva collection.
