Hybrid platforms creeping into high-performance cars is a trend we’ve commented on for some time now, and one that continues to make our afvorite brands more & more exciting. You may not be very surprised, then, that it looks as if Nissan is jumping on the bandwagon with the beloved GT-R. Recent trademark filings show a badge with “Pure Drive, R-Hybrid,” with the “R” being in the exact same font as in the “GT-R” badge. With two GT-R’s in our exotic car rental fleet, we can see how well a hybrid variant of the supersonic sports car would fit into the line-up and could very well believe the badge to be for that exact purpose. On the other hand, the badge could be for a lesser sporting offering like the Sentra or Altima. With the GT-R in mind, the question becomes whether the hot hybrid would show up in the current generation or in the next-gen GT_R due out in 2017. Either way, we’re intrigued. In the meantime, you’ve got to experience the stellar performance of the Nissan GT-R! We’ve got White & Gunmetal Grey – Take your pick!
