How do you turn ‘exotic’ into extreme in the auto world? One way is to take the top off, which is exactly what Lamborghini did to its outlandish Veneno supercar which was unveiled at last year’s Geneva show. And when we say they took the top off, that’s merely all they did to introduce the roadster version of this carbon fiber and aluminum beast. As a matter of fact, if you want a roof over your head you can’t, as the car comes with absolutely no roof. Should your lead foot get you into a dangerous predicament you can count on roll bars integrated into the bodywork to help protect you. Mechanically the Veneno roadster is no different than the coupe and employs an Aventador-derived 750 horsepower 6.5-liter V12 engine linked to a seven-speed ISR transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Expect a top speed of around 220 mph. Nine examples will be built and will cost around $4.4 million. Before you put in your order, though, you’ve got to take a ride in our Lamborghini Murcielago rental or Lamborghini Gallardo rental!
