The Porsche Boxster is one of the best cars available on the market today. With it’s mid-engine layout, roof off, not many cars can match the satisfaction of having telepathic steering and an intake noise that makes you wonder why you opted for the premium audio system. It seems Porsche was wondering too.

With a back to essentials mentality, Porsche will product a sportier and more hardcore version of the Boxster called the Club Sport. The model is meant to exemplify the Boxster’s best attribute: the driving experience. Paying homage to the Boxster Spyder, the Club Sport will up its power output, support a stiffer suspension, and remove any excess weight that Porsche deems as unessential. We hope they bring back the door straps in favor of actual handles as well.

For those who may have been swayed by the 4C by its Spartan levels of amenities and purpose built nature, Porsche is providing a great reason to reconsider.

Power will remain unchanged from the top of the line GTS, which is an adequate 325hp for a car that should weigh in at 2850lbs.
