Pagani is finally building a topless version of the Huayra. The $1.6 million dollar Huayra coupe is all sold out. Pagani built 40 of them per year, with about a year and a half build time for each. 108 were sold in total, 18 of which are located in the United States. There are at least 2 in the San Francisco Bay Area which we’ve seen.
Now, Pagani has announced that a Roadster variant of the Huayra will make an appearance at the Geneva Auto Show in 2016. It will feature the same 730 horsepower, monster of an engine built by AMG. The 6.0 litre V12 inhales the atmosphere through its twin turbos and gets the 3000 pound car to 60mph in 3 seconds. The acceleration can be contributed to its rear weight bias and 7-speed sequential gearbox powering the rear wheels.
Assembly will continue in Modena, Italy just 26 kilometers away from the LaFerrari production line and Fiorano circuit. The Huayra is made up of more than 4,000 parts, not including the engine or transmission. In order to stop the Hauyra, the team at Brembo Brakes has created 380mm, 34mm thick carbon ceramic brakes. On the front, the discs are paired up with six piston single block calipers. On the rear, 4 piston single block calipers.
The Hauyra is the epitome of a hyper car. Due to its bespoke nature, options tend to be as outrageous as its performance. Take for example its keys, which are priced at $3000 per piece. While that is pricey, the amount of detail and craftsmanship that went into the aluminum key is amazing.
Horacio Pagani first began the Hauyra concept under the code name, C9 in 2003 with the release of their last roadster, the Zonda S Roadster.
