This car almost doesn’t need words to explain it. Hennessey + 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is all you really need to know to get excited.
Cadillac’s new CTS-V has 640 horsepower right off the showroom floor and gets to a top speed of 200 miles per hour. The folks at Hennessey Performance figured that wasn’t enough so they’ve developed kits that can get the new CT-S from 750 all the way to 1000 horsepower!
Hennessey is the Texas tuning company known for the world record holding 270 mile per hour Venom GT. A few years ago they took a second generation CTS-V and got it to 221 miles per hour on highway 130 in Texas before running out of road. John Hennessey says with a twin turbo setup, the 3rd generation V should make it to 240 miles per hour easily. In order to stop all of that, they’ll be upgrading all 4 brakes to carbon ceramics.
There are 3 kits in development by HP. The first two use the stock 6.2L V8 engine and supercharger, with upgrades to the pulley, camshaft and cylinder heads. Those packages will get to 750 or 800 horsepower. The HPE1000 package goes all out. Removing the supercharger to replace it with twin ball bearing turbochargers, and upgrading plenty of pieces. The run is limited to just 24 2016 CTS-Vs, making them the perfect rare sleeper.
Take a look at their 221 mile per hour run from Texas in the 2nd generation CTS-V.
