BMW is set to announce the all-new 7 series in the coming months. Last weekend they put out a teaser video highlighting some of it’s high tech features. One of the biggest features they’re pushing is the new driver display key. The same one that comes with the BMW i8. With just the key in hand, drivers can summon the car out of a parking spot or when they arrive at home, back into the garage. The 7 series will also have gesture controls for the entertainment system. It would allow the driver to mute the stereo system by creating a fist over the center console and change radio stations with a flick of the wrist. It’s the closest we’ll get to magic. You can even change the display from navigation or phone display by pointing up towards the screen. Furthermore, voice commands are being redesigned from the ground up which should make interacting with the car through voice a much less robotic experience. BMW also gladly mentioned that they will be implementing a touch screen navigation system, which we hope has the ability to allow future upgrades.
