If you haven’t driven an R8 yet. You should. Inside, the car seems like most other Audis. Comfy seats, pretty gauges, a standard looking navigation system and the R8’s 6-speed gated shifter.

1. It’s got 525 horsepower

The R8 uses the same engine as the Lamborghini Gallardo, a 5.2L V10 mounted right behind the seats. It revs up to 8,300rpm which will bring music to your ears.

2. It sounds like Rip Torn yelling at you to go faster

Once you start pushing your foot down to the floor, you’ll hear it. “BWAAAAHH GO FASTER”, the V10 provides such a rush and it doesn’t just sound great.

3. It’s fast. 

Audi R8 V10 Spyder. In the time it took you to read that, you could have already been past 60 miles per hour, and that’s only a quarter of the way up the speedometer.

4. It can go slow.

The clutch is fairly lightweight for the amount of power the V10 puts out, so driving in the city is still comfortable and easy.

5. Bang and Olufsen sound system

12 loudspeakers, 10 amplifier channels and a total output power of 465 watts makes listening the sound system crystal clear and usable even with the top down.

6. Just look at it.

The R8 has such smooth elegant lines, even the LED headlights are in the form of a soothing wave. Although it looks like a kitten, it sounds like a lion in the wild.

7. You’ll feel like Iron Man when you drive.
