When you’re on the lot and looking for a new car, how apt are you to spring for options? UK-based research organization HPI has shown that Porsche buyers are by far the most likely to spring for extras in their new car. To be exact, Porsche buyers drop nearly $12,000 on extras, besting the second place brand, BMW, whose customers spend a bit over $6,000 on options. Other brands that round out the list include luxury brands like Mercedes, Audi, and mildly surprising, Mini. In our opinion, the study shows both consumer behavior among our favorite luxury and exotic car brands, but also the cost of upgrades among these brands. Porsche has been known to have some of the priciest upgrades, particularly with the options list for the 918 Spyder that showed some extras costing as much as a luxury car. But, if you’re not quite as ready to drop significant change for extra options, don’t worry, our fleet is fully loaded.
